Easiest way is to use Orange's smtp server - smtp.orange.net - it works for domains other than Orange's.
Thanks, that worked great!!
Just needed to turn off authentication as well and its fine.
You can also use your own domain (mail.yourdomain.com) with authentication on I believe. I use this with my PDA and Orange phone

I use my PDA to do my mail. Got fed up the the SPVE200 so went to the new Nokia 6630. The PDS conects to my phone via Bluetooth to get access to the internet, then when sending may I say that it requires Authentication to conect to the server and connect to mail.mydomain.com.
Works fine this way for me.

I have a SPV C500 on Orange.... works lovely... I setup my exchange 2003 box to allow pop3/smtp and I've written a basic webmail webservice that runs on IE for smart phones... I send SMTP via my exchange box... or use OWA.. My exchange setup has front end / back end servers.. Internally Exchange is configured as a backend sender, with IMAP for outlook and other email client support and SMTP in/out via messagelabs... and another exchange server setup as a font end server for OWA, outlook over HTTP, remote pop3/smtp... all autenticated by active directory.... The coolest bit about it is that I can remotely sync my calander and contacts to my mobile without being in the office....
I had an SPV C500 - got fed up with it continually crapping itself and having to charge it up once a day. Replaced it with a good old Nokia 3510i.
Only really good thing about the SPVs, is that you can write Windows forms apps for them in C#!
This does work, but if you can use the Providers mail server then you should.Originally Posted by Tanzy
