    Default Email Suggestions

I have several suggestions for email (some have already been mentioned):

1). The ability to use IMAP instead of POP3. This is particularly useful for people who access email from more than one location.

2). The ability to act as a backup MX for relaying mail to customers with their own mail servers. I would actually prefer that all mail goes through the RFH server first thereby ensuring that Virus scanning is done before getting to the customer. However, either way will do to provide the stability to customers, especially those on ADSL lines.

3). Better implementation of Challenge / Response. At present it seems as though by default all email is put through Challenge / Response. I would like to see the Server Rules run first, then the baysian and other filters, finally the C / R. The server rules will have a definition for what to do with an email should it match the rule. The baysian and other filters should tag and pass messages that they detect as being SPAM, so that a client rule can move these to a SPAM folder (also see (5) which would imply the messages are automatically moved to a SPAM folder on the server). Finally the C / R to catch anything that made it past the other rules. If C/R has been accepted mail from that user should always be accepted and hence should pass straight through.

4). A change to webmail so that the 'Save copy to' Sent folder is defaulted to being checked.

5). The ability to set an Auto-Reply from the webmail system as opposed to Helm. This is so that a mailbox owner does not need to know a Helm account name / password just to manage their mailbox.

6). The ability to set mailbox quotas via Helm and have these viaible within Webmail. This will be particularly important should IMAP be implemented.

7). I personally would like to see the Outlook 2003 like theme set as the default. This is purely because more people are used to Outlook. However, this is just a personal opinion.

Default Another e-mail suggestion: Catch-all addresses

We (Neogic) currently have 30+ domains registered with UKReg (FastHosts), which we would like to migrate to Red Fox.

However, RFH has disabled catch-all e-mail addresses (which allow anything@yourdomain.com to be delivered) under Helm, which we use extensively for many of our domains. As a result, we have to use a third-party mail forwarding service just to get catch-all functionality; UK Reg include it with domain registrations, so we are tied to them while this limitation exists.

If RFH re-enabled catch-alls, we'd love to migrate our domains across. Perhaps it could be an on-request feature, enabled for resellers that need it?

Many thanks to Warren and the team for their fantastic work in making Red Fox Hosting what it is today.

RF will enable catch-all per domain by request, and if you can provide good reason to need it. I'd drop them a support ticket and ask.
