    Default Anti-Spam

I know that trying to elliminate SPAM is an ongoing battle, but from what I have seen there is not much that the RFH server is actually trying to do.

I personally have opted for Level 2 on several domains but still see a great deal of SPAM.

My suggestion would be to investigate the server set-up to ensure that it uses some good RBL's (be careful with the DSL RBL's as I know they list a lot of ADSL IP Pools within the UK). In addition I don't know if Merack allows this but a Protocol filter should also be used to drop connections based on MAIM FROM and SUBJECT headers as well as additional headers.

This in turn should reduce the amount of processing on the Mail server.

To give you an idea I am seeing about 100 to 200 SPAM mails a day that I never saw while running with ModusMail which was used prior to moving to RFH.

I also think it would be useful to put together a quick 'How-To' for configuring Server Rules and C / R since the current instructions are very unclear.

Some changes will be made the Merak config once it is moved to a new server (this week).

I would highly recommend using sbl-xbl.spamhaus.org if you don't already. Please also be aware of some of the dial-up / adsl blacklists such as rhsbl.sorbs.net as including such blacklists can block valid customers (this particular blacklist is listing my ADSL IP even though I have a static reverse entry).
