Default I like what I see - user feedback request

    Hi,

I came across Red Fox by accident, and am highly impressed with the apparent quality and scope of the reseller packages. I have been with my current host for 3 years now, and while it works, I'm getting fed up with the costs (particularly as everything other than a bog standard static site seems to cost extra). I am sorely tempted to switch my 50 odd domains to RF, but need a bit of feedback to help me decide whether to do it (the devil you know, and all that).

So I've read the user feedback forum, and that seems too good to be true (although a little sparsely used - human nature I guess) - what would help me most is some honest feedback from other reseelers out their with their warts 'n all experiences. I'm only a small developer, and can't afford to make mistakes!

    Also:

Is there a list of 3rd part components etc that are installed as standard?

Is there a minimum contract period?

How long have RF been going in their current form?

The last question I want to ask is what is the financial security position of RF, but I guess that's a question that wouldn't get answered (fair enough) but I would like to feel confident that I won't have to change hosts again in the foreseeable future. Don't know how to ensure this tho'...

Thanks to all who take the trouble to respond, this is a serious post and I much appreciate the time & trouble taken by those who reply!

P.S. Does Warren ever get any sleep? He seems to spend his entire life in here! Guy deserves a medal or something.

    Hi,

I'm in much the same boat as you - reseller for another host looking to get all the paid for extras included in the package.

I opened a shared Pro account back in January to "test the water" as it were, and have nothing but praise for the way thing are run here.
Everything works as it should and, when there's a problem, the support is great (and very fast).

I've just upgraded my account to reseller and will start moving domains over in the near future.

I don't know all the components that are installed but the list below covers the ASP ones.

    Asp Email
    ASP Encrypt
    ASP Grid
    ASP Encrypt
    ASP Image
    ASP Jpeg
    ASP PDF
    ASP Upload
    DI WhoIs
    GflAx
    HSBC Payment Gateway
    ImageSize
    JMail

AFAIK, minimum contract is 1 Month.

    Hi again,

Ignore the ASP components question, I've just found the list. I also notice that it says 'others can be added on request' - what's the criteria for this?

    Ta very much.

Non-free components must have great demand for them to be purchased/installed. Other than that, if they are free and decent and dont cause server performance/security issues they can be installed upon request.

No, but generally you wouldnt want to cancel during the middle of a hosting term and therefore that means one month.

Red Fox Hosting was launched very recently, as a changeover from Cheap Unlimited Hosting, this was in December of 2004. More information:

Im not really sure how to answer this one, what I can say is that we "arn't in trouble" (IE: not loosing money like mosts hosts) and that the Red Fox businesses are heavily supported.

Heheh, I don't think he does. I've only been with RFH for a few days and I've already seen him around on a Sunday... Then again, doesn't that work out pretty good for us the customers?

So far I have nothing to complain. There have been some minor (and I mean minor) issues but they were all fixed in no time. Warren also listens to his customers; for example just now a spam measure was taken off the server because several people complained about not liking it. I like that, he's open to feedback and quick to respond.

    Regards,
    Rob

Thanks to all who replied. FYI I googled for Redfox and found nothing but positive postings!

Looks like I ought to do it...
