There was no cheating on Tetris. Warren reckoned that I was posting to the scoring script to create fake high scores, which I wasn't, so the score shouldn't have been removed as it was genuine, but for some reason he refuses to believe this.
More likely the score was too high for anyone else to come close :p
If you want to beat it, start at level 10, ALWAYS leave room for every type of shape and expect to play for 15-20 minutes. You might have to play for a little less time as the page times out and you lose the score.
Harsh...I just got a whopping score of some 4000 on the Magic Ball game - then the session had timed out.
Just nasty if you ask me.![]()
Can the session length not be be extended?Originally Posted by steveg

Most of these are flash games aren't they? The flash iteslf will not time out when you play, and it's only once you loose the game that the flash movie posts the score back to the page. That's how I would have guessed anyway, in which case there are no sessions being used for the high-scores?Originally Posted by TonesUniverse.com

Thats correct, I think whats happening is:Originally Posted by nick
1) PHP sets a session of "user playing game"
2) User plays the flash game for more than 20 minutes, timing out the session
3) Flash game posts the score, with the session ID
4) PHP cannot find the session because of the timeout

Yeah...made me login again. Alas, when I did - no score.
Good job I didn't press on for the big 5k...I think I would have cried.
should be quite easy to find the relevant bit of code and set the timeout a bit higher for that stored session I would have thought?
