    Default Prices

OK I'm slowly getting my head around this. However...

I have one product in the system at the moment. It's price is set at £39. However when I view the product on the website it's price is displayed at 0.

Any help this this would be great. At the moment I just have it on a test domain hosted at RFH so I'm not worried if I need to reinstall it etc.

The other thing is how do you get it to display all its dates in DD/MM/YY (the correct way ) rather than the MM/DD/YY (the wrong way :p)

its been awhile since i played with OsCommerce. I think the date issue is set up in the language files (sounds stupid i know) english.php (if you're using english of course.

price issue i dont know. i cant remember running into that problem. I need to do a reinstall on my gf's site. will let you know how it goes. i always hated oscommerce though. my php mates always say rude words about it (i dont want to break the swear filter!) so i might look for another php replacement.

I think your price problem may have something to do with the currencies configuration?

That was what I was thinking but I have deleted all the currencies in thing. Appart from GBP.

Can anyone recommed a shopping cart that is easy to setup and manage. I'm begining to think that this will be too much for my client. He has been running his business for a number of years and at 60 is not very IT liturate. However, he has come to realise that he needs to be able to take orders on his site rarther than having people post a cheque etc.

At the moment if I'm struggeling to get my head around this, I'm worried for my client. My background is in ASP, and .Net. It also needs to be able to run on RFH servers and be able to use a PayPal account for taking the money.

    Cheers

I have some experience setting up CubeCart (PHP). I prefer it to OS Commerce. I have to say however, it has not stopped me wanting to write my own just as soon as I get some spare time. The opensource/free e-commerce application arena is dissapointingly poor at the moment IMO, certainly for PHP.

If your background is in .asp I'd recommend Cactushop, from Cactusoft. It depends on whether your client feels he will generate enough sales to justify the cost. I've used it for about 4 years and find that it's worth it.

I had this problem as well on one of my sites. The solution for me was to simply set GBP as the default currency (it isn't initially). You have to do this even if there aren't any other currencies available. I would give that a go.

If that doesn't work try adding "?currency=GBP" to then end of the URL address e.g. www.yoursite.com/shop/index.php?currency=GBP and see it that works.

    Good luck!
