    Default phpBB Forum and PHP v5

    Hey, im just wondering what version of php the webservers run? as im asking for some technical help for my php boards and they asked what version im running. Ive forgot how you find out .

    :: Edit ::

    Nevermind i figured out how to do it with that phpinfo tag in a php doc . Quick question, the issue im having is due to the current php version on my web package, is there any chance id be able to downgrade my php version at all? to PHP to 4.4.0?

    So theres no chance of downgrading that no? well they said its some compatibility issue with the newer version of PHP. Its to do with signatures on a forum i use... its a phpbb board and the issue is with that and the PHP version running...

    Yes - but what is the actual issue, we've determined its caused by something in the newer version of PHP - but what exactly in PHP?

    Well i have nothing other than "phpbb is not compatible with php5". However i have asked for a more detailed reply into what exactly is not compatible, as the forum itself is functioning just fine its only the signature feature im having issues with. Ill be sure to let you know on here as soon as i hear anything from them ( if i do as the support on this wasnt exactly great ).

    Also i tried to connect to the online chat to discuss the php issue but all i got was "waiting for an operator" and it done nothing else for quite a while, im just wondering if my firewall / browser / setup is stopping the actual chat thing from loading so i was wondering if we could test this at some point Warren, when you have free time that is.

    Well, to all those that use PHPBB Forums, i should inform you that from what i gather and have been told we should all expect problems as our forums progress due to this compatibility issue with PHP5. Ill keep you informed with the info i find out but so far its not looking good .

    Hows now for ya lol? Also could you change the topic title to phpbb + PHP5 issues? as im sure others on here use phpbb boards and this will affect them if what im being told is correct.

    Yeah indeed, but from what ive gathered from this post problems will occur as phpbb forums progress, so im guessing people could experience problems at various times... if anyone else using phpbb forums could post here letting me know if they've had similar problems then id appreciate it. I mean my forum has been running fine for the past three months, and ive only had this problem now which is surprising.. the actual problem is as follows:

    :: Edit ::

    Ok i tried it with text too and that wont display in his signature either... whats going on with this? as other people have images and text working just fine in their signatures.
    If any of you fellow phpbb forum users would like to track this thread on their support forum its located by clicking here.

    So has anyone else using any red fox hosting package had any similar issues? as im running two seperate forums on seperate databases from the same package and im experiencing this issue with the both of them.

    I've had no problem at all. Admittedly, I've only been running it for 2 weeks, but neither I or my members have experienced any problems with it.

    I use a small image in my sig and its been fine.
