    Default CMS Suggestions

    Hello all

I'm considering converting my Doctor Who site to PHP CMS based. Trouble is 1000 pages to do . I would like to be able to update online via other machines as i'm planning on going to LA reguarly

Any that support hotspots etc would be great

I currently use Dreamweaver which is great and a template to update fields such as news, new members etc but something easier would be better

    Cheers

I recently trialled Joomla but it took 3 attempts to install and it kept locking up on me. I am currently trying out Xaraya, but only installed it last night so too early to give an opinion apart from that it's rather large(16Mb zipped)!

Well i had a little go at Joomla

Just wondered what you all think so far - some improvements will be made later just backlog with college work - they told me when i started 25 assignments then 50 now 70!! nothing counts as final grade all in exam - and been getting 90 odd percent in them so not v happy - also I went to america and asked for an extention, they threatened to charge extra on top of the original cost - costing me enough already lol!!!

Oh well I tried out MP3s for first time ever today cheered me up after stress with college work - oh well 4 days this week at work - off to Manchester for weekend

    Back to subject

Does Joomla support hotspots - just if you look here http://www.doctorwhoworld.org.uk/doctors.html and http://www.doctorwhoworld.org.uk/assistants.htm - you'll see what I mean

    Default Honestly......

If you want something easy to use I would go with DotNetNuke.

Pro's: Easy to use, lots of modules / skins / support. If you're looking for a blog and forums, Active Forums is fantastic and DNNArticle 7.7 are are excellent. Modules cost money.

Con's: Resource Hog, No out the box social networking. You have to pay for additional features / functions.

If you want something a bit more advanced I would use Drupal.

pro's: Its faster than a speeding bullet. Social Networking out the box. Extra functionality is free. Very advanced and powerful.

Con's: Its very complex - difficult initial learning curb.
