Default Basic first time website & SQL2005 setup - help needed

Hi, I new to all this, dot net 2 & sql2005 stuff so I am looking some help/advice on how to setup a site (securely) on redfox with a SQL2005 database. The control panel is a little daunting :crying: (not having used a web interface like it) to say the least so all help etc will be welcomed. Need to setup a secure virtual directory, database, d/b users and all to be secure. Basic pointers to other relevant threads etc!

    Thanks

    Michael

PS, if this is in the wrong forum, if the moderators wouldnt mind moving it! Thanks

    Hello Michael,
I assume youre hosting your SQL 2005 database elsewhere? We currently dont provide SQL 2005 services...

Sorry, mistyped there, looking to know how to upload a SQL 2000 database; where to put it, settings (basic for starters) any users that need to be setup. The same for a website too.

    Thanks

    Michael

    Hi Michael,
When you add your domain in Helm and access it's control panel you will see an option for databases. In there you can add your MSSQL database (providing your hosting package allows it). Once you have added your database you can create the database users. There is a link to MyLittleTools to administer your database. If you have a populated database I *think* you will have to use Enterprise Manager to import the data - I've never found a way to import in MyLittleTools. If worse comes to worse, if you have an SQL dump of the data I'm sure Warren will import the data via a ticket.

    Hope that helps,
    Glynn.
