    Default Flash FLV files

    Hi

Just wondering if there was any reason that I can't seem to link to a flash video (.flv) file on the server. The file is in place at http://www.no-thrills.co.uk/vid.flv but I can't access it in Flash or in IE. I have another flv stored on another server and it can be accessed with Flash and using IE offers the save or run option. Is this a windows 2003 issue or something at my end?

    Thanks

    Nigel

You need to add a mime type for the FLV file in Helm

Why is it that some file extentions need to be added in HELM as mime type?

Most of the default ones are already recognized by the web server, just those obscure ones that need adding. Its a security thing, prevents the web server from serving files that it doesn't recognise.

I guess, you may need to create a kind of FLV player, which is a special
Flash movie that reads the FLV file ....

Do some googling looking for flv player...
