Portal Recommendations?

I'd like to create a Portal for a client which does the following things:

• Allows the clients staff to share custom contact details

• Allows the clients customers to access a file sharing area

Ideally running from an MSSQL Database hosted on a RedFox account.

I intend to code this myself but thought I'd look into any off the shelf options. Well searching via Google has led me all over the place but sadly not netted anything. Most of what I found was project management portals and subscription services held on other peoples servers.

So I thought I'd throw it to the floor and ask if anybody has come across anything?

Have u looked at Dotnetnuke, u could perhaps build modules to do what u require.
