    Default DotNetNuke 4 Helm Wizard

If you use the Application Packs installer for DotNetNuke 4
Please be aware that it installs vesion 4.0.3 rather than the later 4.3.4

After Helm installs DNN you need to go to your site, download the web.config file and edit the connection string to reflect your database server in my case NEON rather than the IP address and upload the file, then it works!!!!

PLEASE do not use 4.3.4 on the RF Servers, it will not work (at least the last time that I checked.) The problem with the new version is that it will not work under Medium Trust due to something that they introduced in the AppStart.

Though just to add, the problem with connection strings in all App Packs should be resolved by WHA in the next version of Helm.

    Default DotNetNuke Error

I have installed DNN using Helm, edited the web.config file and DNN installed but after installation, when clicking the link to goto the portal I get the following?

    Unauthorized Access Error
    Error Details

    File D:\paulbartram.co.uk\wwwroot\Nuke\Portals\_default \\Logs\LogFailures.xml.resources

Error Access to the path 'D:\paulbartram.co.uk\wwwroot\Nuke\Portals\_defaul t\Logs\LogFailures.xml.resources' is denied. The Windows User Account listed below must have Read/Write Privileges to this path.

    Any idea's anyone?

Have you ever had FrontPage Extensions installed on your domain?

Not sure what is happening here since I have only ever installed it myself. I have never usered the Helm Wizard thing (don't see the point). First I would check that the file actually exists. Failing that try doing a manual install.
