    Default Restore Backup

OK finally got around to doing a bit of development. I have MySQL 5.0.24 installed on a local virtual machine. I have the sql file from a Redfox backup.

However, when I try to restore it to my local MySQL database I get all sorts of errors. Any help would be great. (I'm most likely restoring it wrong, I'm an MS SQL man not MySQL)

seems to be basic SQL errors Warren. I'm trying to put a copy of my VBulletin forums onto my development virtual machine so that I can then do some further development.

My main issue in some ways is that I'm not even sure where to start restoring a MySQL database, so any pointers would be great.

Just use MySQL Query Analyser (from mysql.com) to execute the script against any MySQL server.

Tried that Warren and got the errors. Just in the middle of rebuilding my new PC due to other issues. I will try again tomorrow and let you know how I get on. Also created a new backup to see if it was the file.

Seem to have it working now Warren, I reinstalled the MySQL tools on my virtual machine and it worked ???? Oh well at least it works now.

All I have to do now is work out why I'm getting a

'Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysqli_init'

may be because of a change I made to MySQL.. not sure
