    Default Whois

Any information on how to keep ones personal details off the WHOIS directory would be appreciated.

What TLD are we talking about?
You can for .uk and I don't think .eu shows it.
    For .com etc. you can't.

Some registrars will offer whois obfuscating services like Enom's id protect. Basically they put their contact details in place of yours and internally keep records of who owns what. They should be able to do it for most domains, with the possible exception of .us I think.
