    Default Forum Changes

I'm thinking of reoganising the forum, currently everything Red Fox Hosting related is supposed to be crammed into one single forum - thats obviously no good.

Does anybody have any suggestions for a new structure? Baring in mind what the current structure provides for customers.

I think the current structure works quite well. I like to be able to check the forum in the evening in as shortest time possible. This means I have to drill into forums and sub forums when I see there has been a topic or post therefore the less the better. Although I ntoiced there are some rss feeds. If there was one rss feed that I could check which detailed the topics that had recieved a new post that would be really really great :-).

I don't think I ever browse the forum structure unless I'm starting a thread.

If I were to make a suggestion It'd probably be to move the "Red Fox Hosting (Shared/Reseller)" forum to the same level as the "Company Forums", and erm, I guess you'd consequently need to change the Company Forums name a bit it.

Red Fox Hosting is under Company Forums?

I know, so what I mean is make an equivalent section called Red Fox hosting, that is like Company Forums. And then change the company Forums name to reflect what is left in that erm <struggling with naming conventions here> section.

Oh OK - I see, basically remove one level of deepness by having X main categories instead of the current 2?

    Maybe:
    • News and Announcements (removed from Company Forums category, placed on its own in no category)
    • Community Feedback (removed from Company Forums category, placed on its own in no category)
    • Garble (removed from Company Forums category, placed on its own in no category)
    • Red Fox Hosting > Usual Sub Forums
    • Red Fox AddOns > Usual Sub Forums
    • General Forums > Usual Sub Forums

Yeah, something like that seems fairly logical.
The key is to get the Red Fox Hosting Forums group up to the top level, as it is busiest, and would benefit most from having its subforums show their 'last post' links on the main page.
