    Default Curl vs fopen

does anyone have a view on which is better, curl or fopen? And how can I enable one or the other on my red fox hosted joomla site?

I don't think there is really much in it <waiting for someone to prove me wrong>. CURL, from what I gather may be slightly better suited if you need to deal with authentication on the remote server? I tend to use fopen purely because it was the first thing I hit in the php manual.

Btw. how do you mean 'enable' on your joomla site? They should both be enabled as part of the PHP environment.

PHP would need to be enabled in the Helm WebHosting Control Panel on the domain.

    Helm > Domains > domain.com > Website Settings > PHP
