    Default SQL Server Backups

MyLittleBackup is great, but do I need to use it?

Do RedFox backup? and is it easy to get one restored? or should we be doing our own backups every night?

I like the idea that I can take my own backup when I want, but I am not so keen if its all down to me.

    What are other people doing?

Well I back up from time to time, but then my data doe's not change a massive amount, so I am relaxed about it.

We have two backup systems in place - our main backup system creates raw images of the hard drives (we cannot restore small amounts of files from these), our other backup system will create backups which are easy to retrieve files from but will not backup ALL data and will not save the data it backs up for very long - this system is simply a backup "buffer".

So to answer your question - you should backup your own data using the systems we provide or your own systems/methods; however if we need to restore an entire hard drive due to failure for example - we can sort that no problem.

This would result in my question on how to go about backing up a database that has a high number of transactions per day.

As far as I can tell all the current methods would require some manual processing.

Can MyLittlebackup files be restored in local installations of SQL Server?

I tried this the other day and the download file was an aspx file, did not get a resolution to that, so not sure what I was doing wrong or if it was not working properly.
