Hi,

Hi James,
Is the mail being tagged sent direct to the pop3 email account or is it getting there from a forwarder/catchall if you have one?
And to answer your question yes I do get mail spam tagged even though it's listed.

Keith.

Yes to both. ... I think ... Definately on the forwarder.

Caus I was getting so much spam I thought sod the catch all Ill take Warrens advice and thought of the pros and cons of removing (the main con is that I could lose mail cause I had not setup the forwarder).
I believe the email that was tagged as spam was from a forwarder even though it was in my trusted list.
I would love my webmail to work using the proper spam folder now I am not using a catch all account.
I'll just add a little note here, as it may help others. I'm not sure if Helm let's you add individual accounts once you have a catchall implemented. However th mail server can be configured with individual pop boxes that are checked prior to a catchall.
Therefore, if you were able to create POP boxes you would still have been able to use the catchall to hide behind those boxes to trap any mail that you hadn't created a pop box specifically for.
I don't recommend anyone running this way for any length of time, I'm merely putting this here as it could help in migrations so you don't kill email by accident (it will probably require a ticket to RFH support depending on how Helm works).
The problem is the way in which the forwarder works. I'm presuming the forwarding address was in your trusted sender, however the original sender was not.
Modus does not normally re-write the original sender, instead it adds a resent-from for forwarding emails, and hence doesn't check this against the Trusted Senders list.
The way the Anti-Spam system works in respected to forwarded accounts and relayed accounts has been discussed at length by several off Vircom customers, and I do know that Vircom tried to implement the best fit solution. It's just unfortunate that it does not fit well in this case.

So I presume the short answer is the trusted list / rules / spam functionality does not really work when you have one pop account and some forwarders pointing to it. There has to be a work around to this problem as it is such a basic requirement of most of Warrens customers.
