    Default Paypal Pro

    Hi Guys,

Just thought that I'd start a post to see if anyone has used Paypal Pro yet and more specifically, used it in the billing section in helm?

We are thinking about signing up for it, but not sure how easy it would be to integrate with Helm. e.g. can you just enter different information into the paypal section, or is there more to it than that?

    Thanks,

    Chris

Bump (sorry for being impatient - don't want to sign up for it if it's no good!)

So it's no good, or easy to integrate? I thought that the whole idea of paypal pro was that it acts the same as a proper payment processor so looks more professional?

Are there any other payment gateways/processors that anyone would recommend? I only really know about the bigger ones e.g. world pay etc...

    Thanks,

    Chris

PayPal Pro - is that the one that uses APIs rather than the PayPal website to submit payment? Last time I check Helm only supported the manual classic PayPal website version...?

Yes it is. I had a feeling that it might not work with helm. I see that in the billing section in helm there is a option to add a custom payment method, would it be possible to add it here do you think?

For anyone that is interested in reading more about paypal pro click here.

The Helm developers would need to add support for it as an "Automatic Payment Gateway".

Nope, Helm doesn't support any PayPal automated/recurring billing options.

Take a look at WHMCS if you want a decent billing system that integrates with Helm.

We are currently using PayPal pro for our website -

And have just added verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure Code to the web processing (a little complicated).

We had a Paypal standard account (I think this is normal) before we opened the pro account and we use the Paypal interface for one off payments within HELM. (We do not use recurring payments - but I do see PayPal Pro UK listed for recurring - we have not tested it)

If you look at the paypal account through the classic PayPal interface - you see all transactions - and likewise the PayPal Pro logon.

So really it appears as one account with the ability to use the Pro API.

PayPal pro works well - but you do have to implement.

    1. Credit Card Processing.
    2. With 3-D Secure technology for Maestro payments [after 21st January 2010]
    3. PayPal express [They check you have done this]
