    Default Enabling email forwarding?

    Hi

Is there anything special I need to do to enable email forwarding outside of my hosted domain?

Or am I misunderstanding how to use the Helm tools?

    Basically at the moment....
    - I seem to be able to send emails into proper POP3 parkrun.com accounts.
    - I seem to be able to receive emails from proper POP3 parkrun.com accounts.
    - If I set up an auto reply on a POP3 account then that works.
    - If I set up a forward on a POP3 account then that doesn't work.
    - If I set up a "forward" to a hosted parkrun POP3 account then it works
    - If I set up a "forward" to an external POP3 account then it doesn't work.
    - I see similar results with "MRA" forwarding too.

So basically I don't seem to be able to forward from parkrun.com to external accounts....

    Thanks for any help!

Hollywood (befuddled and confused as ever!)

    Yes :-)

It took less than 2 hours to propagate over.... but over 24 hours for someone in Brinkster to start the process (for some reason they're form wasn't automated)

Does the email forwarding go out through spam filters?

Weve definitely got some emails forwarded now - but only some - I'm a little worried something might be over-zealously scrubbing our forwarded emails. Where would I be able to see this?

    Thanks

Forwarded emails aren't associated correctly with a mailbox and hence there is no place to check. However, the good news is that this means you also aren't able to change the default scanning options which means these messages should just have the '[SPAM]' pre-prended to the subject.

If, however, you still feel you are missing messages this could be due to the servers being on RBL's (Real-Time Black Lists) or not having a correct Reverse DNS entry which is an RFC requirement and whilst un-related to mail is enforced on the RFH mail servers to help reduce the junk mail.

    Warren's looking into this now....

But basically I've set up an MRA forwarding address test AT parkrun.com which forwards to me AT slodge.com and a POP3 account web AT parkrun.com...

When I send in an email from my gmail account, it is delivered to the POP3 account, but not sent on to my slodge.com account...

I'm a bit worried that more important emails are going missing at the moment... but hopefully I'll work out what's going on soon.

Just in case anyone is interested.... this seems to be down to gmail... and could be some sort of self defence mechanism against endless forwarding loops - basically it looks like gmail is just swallowing any emails that I send to accounts which are then forward back to me. This doesn't service affecting and is only a bit annoying... importantly I'm not losing any incoming email.

Thanks to Warren for helping investigate it - I've now submitted some problem reports to Google but I'm not really expecting much back....
