    Default Prepropagation and DNN

    Hello Guys,

I am having some strange problems with DNN. I used prepropagation to setup a domain in helm and later installed DNN form the application pack for a customer. This enabled him to setup his DNN thingy while the domain name transfer was pending.

Finely the domain name has been transferred last week. But whenever you enter the url, DNN somehow redirects you to the prepropagation url. So somehow somewhere in DNN is a setting that redirects every one to the prepropagation url, I guess.

But I have no clue where I can change this setting. Naturally my customer doesn’t want to use the prepropagation url.

I hope my problem makes any sense. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Easy solution to this Rappie,

If you go to Admin->Site Settings (within DNN)

At the bottom of the site settings you should see a section called Portal Aliases you need to add your domain here. Once it is working this this domain, you should be OK to delete the prepropagation alias in this list.

BTW there is a DNN forum setup on RFH here http://forums.redfoxuk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=108

I tend to monitor this forum (setup a subscription so that I get an email if a post is made).

    Doh.... that is easy

But unfortunately, i don't seem to be able to delete nor edit the prepropagation alias. (I have to wait till the other alias is working, don't I?)

If you are happy to edit a database table, once you are happy that you do not need the prepropagation alias I can inform you on how to edit the table that contains the data.

Although i am not really to familiar to MSSQL, I’ll be more then happy to edit the db table

But does this mean that the "main" alias (the alias created and used when setting up DNN) never can be deleted? From DNN that is, obviously it possible by editing the DB.

Truth be told I can't remember. But editing the DB is easy enough, it is only one table that you need to go to and so long as you are careful everything should be fine

I'm afriad that I can't give you the table name etc till tonight (late) as I'm way with work at the moment and don't have access to my dev machine to get the table name etc. Doing 14 hour days at the moment, so please be patient if I do not get back to you tonight.
