Has anyone got good directions to a javascript resource site?

I'm after a vertical scrolling news like area... with links and images etc etc...

just found the marquee tag, anything i should know about this tag that is bad?

The marquee tag is an IE relic, that admittedly most of the main browsers (though certanly not all) still support for legacy reasons. It is also one of the archetypal web 1.0 (for want of a better description) design elements responsible for many a terrible web page.

I'm no expert, but I think it's frowned upon, priimarily due to accessibility. As noted above, it's also a legacy keyword.

You might be better looking to an ajax based solution, or at least sticking with the javascript route.

I've not checked it, but http://www.hotscripts.com/ looks like it might be a good start...

thanks for your thoughts, supposed to be building an affiliates banner admin area - an individual can create, edit and remove banners for affiliates to download and add to their sites.

scrolling text is a BIG part of the brief.

never needed to use scrolling text before, hence my surprise of finding this deprecated marquee tag - it seemed so simple! ha!... oh well, the customer demands... javscript or marquee... i'll flip a coin.
