Unfortunately not to my knowledge it is not possible to stop the download of a flash file, but there are ways to make it more akward.

Because the browser downloads the html and that of any referenced components it is also easy for customer to look at source and work out the file name of the flash and download it (forging the user agent if required).

What you can do is embed content in the flash which is pulled into the flash file from another file. A user can work around this as flash files can be 'uncompiled' but it will put off the average user.

Also - there is code that you can add to flash files that make them work only on a particular domain name only; some flash games websites use this to stop theft.

I tend to proxy them through an ASP page which checks the REFERER and user agent properties. Stops all but the really determined flash burglars.
