Default SQL SERVER 2000 - How do i get it?

    HI All

Any idea if SQL Server 2000 is still available as opposed to SQL 2005?

I prefer to use Enterprise Manager than the 2005 tools and find 2000 a lot easier to use.

How can i get it on my shared package?

I don't believe that SQL 2000 is available anymore. I'm sure that Warren will be around soon to confirm/deny this.

Same here, I think that if you had an SQL 2000 database when the move occured to SQL 2005 then you kept it. However, if you create a new MS SQL database then it will be an SQL 2005 one.

That's correct, since SQL 2005 databases are pretty much the same as SQL 2000 databases in access/querying terms.

What is the reason for specifically requiring 2000?

I am a web developer and have Enterprise Manager installed on my dev machine so I can administer my client databases (MSSQL 2000).

The last time i installed the tools to interact with 2005 databases my enterprise manager stopped working meaning I had to uninstall the 2005 tools.

Also I find it easier to use than 2005.

If there is a possibility of getting a 2000 database I would really appreciate it.

The 2005 SQL Manager is much better than the 2000 version, and the 2005 version can access 2000 servers too. It is a little different and doesn't take much effort to get used to it.

If it's just the import/export functionality that you miss from the 2000 version of the management software. Download and install the dts wizard from MS and you should be fine:
