Default DNN 4.5.5 and DNS Prepropagation

    Hi

I haven't transfered over my domain yet but I've just copied over a DNN 4.5.5 installation. The SQL 2005 database is set up and all the files have been uploaded and web.config connection strings changed.

I've installed the DNS Prepropagation support but I'm getting this error:

    DotNetNuke Error: - Version 04.05.05

Invalid URI: The hostname could not be parsed.

Anyone got any ideas how you can view a DNN site before the domain comes across?

    Cheers

    Mark

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think you need to add the Hostname to the Portals Aliases. I'm sure Tanzy will know the proper answer to this.

Yes - you'll at least need to add the prepropagation name to the list of aliases. One source of info on this is the manual for BackupScript from Evotiva - we half use their product. Their docs can be downloaded from here - http://www.evotiva.com/Modules/Backu...7/Default.aspx

I believe that you are correct with this Sol. As at the moment the only entry would be for the proper domain name and not the temp one that is being used.

    Just chill
