    I dont understand.....

What does this mean for resellers then? that our HELM control panels WONT be RFH branded? meaning we are left with what we currently have?

Also are we saying that HELM is going to be completly imbedded into RFH skin/control panel? meaning that its actually going to change very dramatically!

One hosting provider ive recently had an experience with completly integrated and embedded MySQL/PHP MyAdmin into their own skin, and it was awfull! A lot of features and functionaility was lost.

I think this means that for us as (direct) RFH custormers (both regular and reseller) HELM wil be some how integrated to a new RFH dasboard. So all functions can be accessed from one place. Kinda like mixin' "My Red Fox Hosting" and Helm I imagine.

For our own custormers nothing (much) will change. They will still be logining on to helm as they do now. They won't see any RFH branded or skined pannel.

Correct - resellers and shared customers will no longer access Helm seperatly; it will be embedded into the new central Red Fox Control Panel.

Sound's great... Don't forget to add the application for RFH resellers to create new sub-resellers

My prediction: Warren will start developing a new control panel system for hosting providers for the future.

Warren can you tell us what new features we'll have in the 'my red helm' cp above what's in the existing version of Helm? Does this change also mean that you will not be migrating to Helm 4 when it supports all the functionality of H3?

    Regards
    Keith.

    Hello Keith,
Helm 4 doesn't have all the Helm 3 functionality, still is bug-ridden and still is too complex for the average user to get to grips with (very raw, needs some fine tuning); additionally we would need to spend Helm 4 dev time on all the custom stuff we have done in Helm 3 like SSL Certificates and URL Rewriting.

We will reevaluate in the future but in the meantime we are sticking with Helm 3.

tbh I am sure helm 3 meets everyones requirements. there is no sake having helm 4 because it is helm 3 + 1

Helm 4 would be nice because it would speed up development time in adding new features/services (due its modular architecture) - but as I said, something for the future.

Some of the features of Helm 4 would be useflu as well.

One off my pet hates is being unable to print a credit note (ie. If I RFH have an outage and I decide to compensate my customer I can do so by crediting their account, however this only shows on the statement and not as a direct credit note).

I'd also like hierarchial accounts (ie. resellers can have sub-resellers).

But as Warren has said it is far from production quality and hence better to stick woth the working solution. I also pity Warren and his team since they will probably have a lot of re-coding to do when that migration does come round.
