Announcing Red Fox Hosting Premier
I am pleased to announce the availability of a new premier hosting service from Red Fox Hosting. Designed for small medium businesses with mission critical websites that require extreme responsiveness, Red Fox Hosting Premier combines all the benefits of shared hosting with all the benefits of managed dedicated servers.

Initially Red Fox Hosting Premier will only be available to existing customers and will not be publically available; depending on successful uptake of the service it will be made fully available at the same time as other new services/plans when Red Fox Hosting unveils its new website.


What is Red Fox Hosting Premier?
The Premier hosting service will be a guaranteed "no more than 40 domains per server"; the goal is to allow customers to host their websites on their own dedicated server but at a low cost and without the hassle of dedicated server management. The solution is to share the dedicated server with a small number of other websites; at 40 domains per server there would be no noticeable difference than at 1 domain per server.


What is included with Red Fox Hosting Premier?
Each domain hosted on the Premier hosting service is allocated:

8GB disk space and 100GB bandwidth.

Its own application pool.
Including configurable recycle timeouts and the ability to stop/start/recycle on demand – application pools isolate a website into its own memory space, meaning a crash by another website (due to bad ASP coding for example) would not affect it.

Its own dedicated IP address.
The standard £15.00 + VAT fee for a dedicated IP address or SSL Certificate installation/assignment will be waived.

ASP.NET running under Full Trust security configuration.
Since each domain is running its own application pool, ASP.NET can securely run under Full Trust; perfect for.NET code requiring Full Trust.

Access to Premier MySQL/Microsoft SQL Server 2005 instances.
Each provisioned Premier server will have its own local database server instance, specifically for domains on that Premier server.

Additionally, all other quotas for service items such as POP3 mailboxes and FTP accounts will be based on the Professional Shared hosting plan, except 25 MySQL databases and 5 Microsoft SQL Server 2005 databases can be created on the local Premier server.

What is the cost of Red Fox Hosting Premier?
Due to the per domain nature of the Premier hosting service, the cost is also based on a per domain model:

• 1 Domain: £9.95 + VAT (per month).
• 5 or more Domains: £9.45 + VAT (per domain/per month).
• 10 or more Domains: £8.95 + VAT (per domain/per month).
• 20 or more Domains: £8.45 + VAT (per domain/per month).
• 40 or more Domains: £7.95 + VAT (per domain/per month).
• Or an entire server *: £495.00 + VAT (per month).

* At this level, an entire server will be provisioned for private use - there is no limit to the number of domains that could be added to the server, other than hardware capacity such as 160GB total combined disk space usage.


How do I order Red Fox Hosting Premier?
The Premier hosting service can be ordered via helpdesk ticket to the sales department or email sales@redfoxhosting.com.


Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will domains on the Premier hosting service be added and administered with the regular control panels/online tools?

Yes, the service is designed and deployed exactly like our regular shared hosting service.

2) I would like to move a domain onto the Premier hosting service; do I have to reconfigure/reupload everything?

No, we will take care of all server side changes for you; due to DNS record changes being involved there may be a brief period of downtime for machines with DNS caches, however we will make server side changes during low traffic times or at a requested time.

3) Can resellers resell the Premier hosting service?

Yes, the service is unbranded like our regular shared hosting service and can be resold by those wishing too – a separate dedicated premier reseller account (at no additional cost) will be required to contain the Premier hosted domains.

A few customers requested a service like this, it isn't designed to replace our existing shared services - but just helps with the cost/managment side of things when a dedicated server is the only option.

One question though:
I often have the .com and .co.uk versions of a domain aliased to the same website. Would this be considered one or two domains for the purposes of pricing?

Domain aliases are not counted - 50 aliases (from the Professional plan quotas) are included for every one domain on Premier.
