Default Can anyone recommended an Open Source e-commerce Shopping Cart for me?

I am looking to develop a shopping cart solution for a client on a shoestring budget.

It needs to be solid and have a Paypal gateway enabled.
The actual business is small - hence the cost restrictions.

As I see it I have 2 options:

Either a PHP based Open Source cart that will work out of the box (as I have zero PHP skills)

    or

A .NET based open source cart, that ideally needs no extra effort. (.NET is my forte)

Can anyone recommend a cart that is suitable? I have no issue if the cart hangs off Joomla or Drupal or any other CMS if it means a robust cart in the end.

    TIA

PHP, http://www.magentocommerce.com/ is starting to look nice, I've not tried running it on RF yet though.
I can't say I much like the 'original' php shopping cart solutions, like http://oscommerce.com/ and http://cubecart.com/, though I'm particular so your milage may vary.
.NET I'm passionately clueless about so I can't help you.
A third option are the 'hosted' solutions, such as http://www.shopify.com (incidentally and somewhat ironically as a post this their site is not working), they have to be the easiest.

I have decided to try out Zencart.

When I try and install it I get an error to do with cURL

    The explanation from ZenCart is:

Some payment and shipping modules require cURL in order to talk to an external server to request real-time quotes or payment authorizations.

If you intend to use the PayPal Express Checkout or Website Payments Pro modules, or Authorize.net AIM, you *need* CURL support.

It appears that your server may not have cURL support configured or activated for your account.

Does anyone know how to enable/configure ZenCart for cURL as I will be wanting to use Paypal.

    TIA
