    Default What do you think?

After much work - we (I) have finished a major presentation revamp of our site.
O.K. it's still asp, but with a new look and plays around with css a bit 2 much.

My problem is I like creating ideas not perfecting them.

So please - those of you that just might be interested in renting a French Gite and anyone else that can think from that viewpoint (I am just defiuning the market I want to appeal to) Please tell me what you think.

    Thanking you, possibly in advance
    David.

It looks great but you could improve it even more by getting rid of the unnecessary tabled layout and moving ALL of your CSS to an external stylesheet.

Agreed - but I got very frustrated with getting IE(7&8) & FF(2&3) to position everything where I wanted. I know IE8 is an early beta but certainly does show a major shift towards total complience.

So I decided to put off updating aspects which would have no effect on look.

By the way the banner will change again within a month which is why you see inline styles there.

    Thank for comments,
    David.

I'm guessing you market is aged around 40+.

Your homepage does far too much in one go, 99% of people will have at least rough idea of how many rooms, pool, and what kind of catering they want, so make the search you main and only focus of the page.

Reduce the links of the side a bit, and have 2-3 main categories

Either drop some easy on the eyes colours oto the page (as part of the
search perhaps) or swap the white for an off white/less bright colour.

Yes our market is for end clients mid 30's up.
for advertisers it's 50's plus mostly.

We get all sorts - some use the basic search others go advanced and search for specific weeks.

The advertisers like the initial display of properties and compete (we place limits on this) to stay on page 1.

I found an interesting SEO link here:
A work by 37 experts on what is important (Note the comments by 3 experts on each aspect).
