    Default Sql Server 2008

Is Sql Server 2008 being considered for RFH?

If so, which services/processes are likely to be enabled? Will, for example, the new datatypes, (spatial, filestream) be available? How about the Synch framework?

Also, on a similar topic, what aspects of Sql Server (2005) are currently enabled for use? I know SSRS is on the premier package, and that SQLCLR isn't on, but what about SSAS/Data mining? Notification services? Linked servers? Full-text? etc

    Just curious really...

Thanks for the help RFH guys,

    Jim.

On one of my premier hosting domains I've got full-text running but you need to get Warren to setup the catalogs for you. It's not available on the standard DB servers though.

LOL - I was only asking the SQL 2008 question!

    Incidentally, what is "full-text"?

We will not be deploying SQL Server 2008 due to its little difference to SQL Server 2005 and short shelf-life; instead we are planning to jump straight into SQL Server 2010.

Now that MS have decided to update MS SQL 2008 to R2, rather than release a 2010 version, does RedFox still intend to stay with 2005 for now?

I only ask as I'm about to set up a development server and want it to match the premier hosting capabilities as much as possible.

    Thank you in advance

Is there any progress on the installation of MS SQL 2008 R2? Or will this version be skipped (as well)?

    Thanks.

Any update on this? I develop on MS SQL 2008 R2, and I'd really like to be able to deploy my next project on RedFox.
