    Default Play instead of download

    I have an .avi on my site that I want users to watch, but when they click the link it just downloads, how can I get it so it views instead of downloading

    Would recommend converting to flash video and embed flash video player into page.

    You need to add a MIME Type to your domain for the file you want to play.

    It basically tells the end-user's webbrowser how to use the file they have clicked on.

    It should be pointed out that AVI would not be a good format for the web since there are several different codecs that work with this file type. I would hence also recommend converting to another format.

    Yes, if you convert to a WMV (windows media) for example and use the correct MIME Type, you can progressively play the video file, which means it downloads the file as you watch it.
