Default Need a web based FTP client to connect to the FTP server over HTTP

    Hi all

Hope someone can help... Can anyone recommend a web based FTP client to connect to our Red Fox Hosted FTP server over HTTP. I do not have access to the server so cannot install anything on it. I need to allow people outside my organisation to upload files when they are not allowed to use FTP on their PCs due to secuirty restrictions.

    Many thanks

I just access directly in IE, or is that not allowed either?

you can do it in IE. but IE7/8 defaultly views FTP servers as readonly directory listing, so you have to go into File and open it into an Explorer Window for it to work properly.
Its a bit naff since MS did that and I think there should atleast be setting so you can decide which one you want to default use.

I think firefox will handle browser based FTP also.

...that isn't true FTP over HTTP though - IE/FireFox will connect on port 21 and communicate using the FTP protocol; I think what is being asked is an online service to connect to FTP over HTTP.

    Something like http://www.net2ftp.com/ (unchecked).
