    Default Control Panel

I thought I would open up a new thread on this to try and catch Warren's attention.

Really would like an update on the management system you said would be up and running by then end of tax year. Just curious to know if anything has been done about it. HELM is getting a bit restrictive for me. There are quite a few features that I would like to use but simply aren't available through this version of helm.

Really hoping for some feedback on this. I understand that this version of HELM does what it needs to do but I could seriously be doing with some of the features in the latest version of HELM.

I am really pleased with my account with red fox however I feel that the control panel has been a bit neglected.

    Any updates?

    Hello There,
Which features in particular are you missing in the current control panel?

Well, if I may make a few suggestions:

    - Multiple user logins for a hosting account
    - Improved resources notification (sending notification BEFORE resources limits are being exceeded + When having more then one package in hosting account, the option [tag] to tell on what package the resources are being exceeded)
    - File upload through CP (like back in the day)
    - (ZIP) backup thingy intergration
    - Beter domain search options
    - (Beter) handeling of domain forward through CP
    - UI/layout tweaks: I.E: FireFox doesnt show the pointer (hand) cursor on data tables in helm
    - Billing API allowing for domain alliases being add (would be really sweet)
    - Improved file manager

I'd say 2 of those are valid points that could easily be sorted by Warren....
Extend API and Zip Backup system integration...

The File Upload was never supported in Helm orginally, it was an addon Warren wrote for the SSL Manager, which if i remember correctly had security flaws so was removed.

Some of the things I was thinking of would include:

    - Ruby support etc.
    - Better API to make use of "New! Helm 4’s new notification system allows you to "tap" into any Helm event (such as when a domain is added to the system) and trigger notifications over multiple channels including email, sms, instant message, fax, and more."
    - Being able to sell reseller acounts
    - My Plan Template (tree hierarchy where hosting plans can inherit settings from parent accounts)

The main one for me is the API. I have a custom content management system that I have built up and plan to extend significantly. I want to integrate my CM into HELM features to allow full hosting platform management from my CM. The purpose of this is to streamline and itemise in one place all ongoing costs for a user that would be completely automated.

Are you still planning on deploying your new custom written control panel Warren?

One other thing I would love is to be able to add cron jobs through the cp but I see the potential problems on a shared hosting platform in terms of resource usage. Maybe if there was a way each hosting account by default is able to add 1 cron job listing which would be tested for execution time to ensure it wouldn't bog down the server?
